Am I the only one who loves the wooshing sound that a match makes when it's lit? I mean I really love it.
Err. I was afraid of that. I'm not a pyromaniac. Really. Wait. Where are you all going? Come back here!
Posted by mikewolf at November 15, 2004 10:09 PMWell-p, since I'm an ex-smoker, the whoosh and the tangy sulfur smell bring back physical memories of carefree puffin' days. I was never as fascinated by fire as some people get (ahem), but one of the strange things about quitting tobacco is that I don't have an intricate relationship with fire any more. I've tried carrying lighters anyway, but since I rarely use them they tend to get lost; and matches don't have the same allure as they did once.
Besides, with things like matches I'm always afraid I might end up collecting them by accident.
