"Neighborhood #2 (Laika)" by Arcade Fire from the album Funeral (2004)
I anticipate that Arcade Fire will leave the electorate as divided as some other recent little vote. I happen to love it. I'm willing to be in the minority, though. Remember, if you snag it you must comment.

Posted by: Dennis on November 7, 2004 04:33 PMI had to download it because we named our dog Laika. Tasty little tune!
Posted by: Mark on November 8, 2004 05:32 AMDo you agree w/ this band influences genealogy?
Boomtown Rats -> Pulp -> Flaming Lips -> Interpol -> Arcade Fire.
Posted by: deano on November 8, 2004 11:58 AMYeah, Dean, but I might put Modest Mouse in there between the Lips and Interpol.
So did that mean you liked it?
Just wait until next week when I make you all insane with Animal Collective. I really can't wait!
Posted by: mrw on November 8, 2004 03:58 PMIf you're going to put Interpol in any chain of influence Joy Division MUST precede them. Not that that's a bad thing.
Posted by: Dennis on November 8, 2004 08:03 PMAFter all the fuss about Arcade Fire, this is my first time actually hearing them: that was excellent. Fun and ragged, committed geekstomp rock. But I'm hearing a lot more Talking Heads than Boomtown Rats...
