Did anybody see Kerry on Letterman? I put it on the DVR. I might watch it tonight.

Posted by: Lady Crumpet on September 22, 2004 01:00 PMKerry was the best I've ever seen him on a talk show. I don't know if you saw him on the Daily Show a couple weeks back, but that appearance just made me cringe. He actually came across as affable and laid-back with Letterman. Even his Top Ten list -- a potential cauldron of unfunny -- was charming and chuckle-worthy. This NYT Op-Ed is a pretty good encapsulation of what he should do: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/21/opinion/21marcil.html
Posted by: Jesse on September 22, 2004 02:08 PMKerry did just fine with Letterman, I thought. Dave seemed more stiff than the candidate. They should have gotten Kristin Gore to write the Top Ten, though.
Lately, I'm convinced it's the Jay Leno viewers who are fucking up this country. Ever meet someone who professes to be a fan? It's sort of like admitting you eat Fluff out of the jar. See http://www.laweekly.com/ink/03/47/deadline-finke.php, in which Leno gets taken to task for his shameless pandering to right wingers and the dolts they influence.

Posted by: Ken Goldstein on September 23, 2004 01:23 AMe-v.com changes daily now. This election is a dead heat and the polls are all over the place. Neither side has objective and legitimate cause to begin celebrating just yet.
