One of the finest pieces in A Case for Song was Mr. Goldstein's deconstruction of Pulp's "Common People". Well, he's been outdone. Bill Shatner's deconstruction of the Britrock classic (with a little help from Ben Folds) sounds like a complete spoken-word nightmare. Take a listen.
Oh, and send me more A Case For Song pieces!!!!!
Posted by mikewolf at August 28, 2004 04:45 PMThey played this about a week ago on my listener-sponsored radio station here in Pittsburgh (www.wyep.org btw). Luckily, I was driving *home* from work and not *to* work, as my skin started crawling up and down my spine. No, really! It was a very strange experience. Both highly amusing and disturbing. But it shocked me to no end that they actually knew the song at all and had the class (?) to do it. Now they need to cover 'This is Hardcore'.
