Remind me that I still have to tell you kids about -
*Seeing Morrissey with Ken on Friday.
*The brilliance of Michael Winterbottom in general and "In This World" in particular.
*The gym that I joined and the pain therein.
*The bizarre late night sights on 125th.
*The "are you a vegan?" discussion that was thrown at me today at Wild Oats.
Right now I'm just too tired. I'll leave you with one of the funniest lines I've read in a long time. It belongs to Gregory Weinkauf of the Dallas Observer. In his review of the absolutely wretched looking "Van Helsing" he writes:
This beast is as subtle as a Red Bull enema...
With that I bid you goodnight.
Posted by mikewolf at May 08, 2004 11:38 PM"Van Helsing" isn't all that bad, it just set of running in one direction and then got lost and didn't have the brains to turn back. (This aptly summarizes much of the plot, as well.) I'm with A.O. Scott in the Times: "It is easy to be annoyed by 'Van Helsing,' but hard to hate it." A botched opportunity for some real fun, but that's about all.
I wonder what Elvis Mitchell would have said about it...

*Comment on whether the Tigers are a flash in the pan.
I'll hold "Apologize for dissing Ozzie Guillen" until at least September. ;^)
If it's a vote, make mine "Bizarre late nights on 125th."
