I can relate to missing the South, where winter ended long ago. It was in the 20s here last night. WTF was I thinking when we moved?
As an antidote to Prince's pessimism, try a little Waits:
"Ain't no good thing ever dies
I'm gonna take it with me when I go."
Also on the bright side, baseball starts today, even if it won't be warm enough to attend in person for two more months.
