hey, atlanta

Yeah, I'm talking to you. I'm coming to visit you over Memorial Day so you best get ready. I don't want any of this yucky, pollen-covered, humid crap okay? Get that out of your system now. All I want is to see my friends and drink my body weight in sweet tea. Consider yourself warned.

No shit? Really??

I know, I know... Columbus is too far away (1 1/2 hours) to lure you down here from Hotlanta. Could I, perhaps, entice you with a minor league baseball game?

KBO -

I'm already booked to go to a Braves game. We'll talk when it gets closer. Perhaps we can figure something out...

Be careful... the cicadas are swarming...

Yeah, that's just swell. I lived there for eight years and managed to avoid the stupid things but I'll go back and fry some up...

Atlanta is nothing like when you left...what is this yucky pollen crap you speak off...we have none of that. The heat is pleasant...not too hot...to too cold...but just right (much like the porridge in baby bears bowl). We have no traffic now. It just suddenly all went away. Beautiful southern women are everywhere just waiting to beguile you with hospitaly. And oh yeah...I almost forgot. A rainbow sits over the city constantly bringing a smile to the face of every Atlanta resident.

For the record, we're not opposed to driving up to Atlanta to see you. If you're not booked solid, that is.

So do we need to start making reservations for your time? ;)

so, did I hear a rumor that you are actually going to the offices of our former employer to do some work? We will defintely try and get together...how long you here for? If possible, we'd love to have you come for a delicious home-cooked meal and lots of meaningful conversation (oh, and drinks...definitely drinks).

Well, a lot has happened in Atlanta since you left, Mike. A rift in space time released some kind of hellish demon things that howl mindlessly and creep in the shadows along littered streets. You won't be surprised to learn that most of these hang around the Five Points MARTA station. Downtown is just a collection of dark, hollow, buildings, deserted and vacant, the cracked glass in their windows staring sightlessly like black, bloodshot eyes. Graffiti-stained MARTA trains sit abandoned and rotting on decaying bridges. A rank wind blows trash across hole-pocked streets, and abandoned vehicles sit rusting in deserted byways, inhabitated by furtive, feral children. So come to think of it, it's pretty much like when you left. Oh, and George W. Bush is president. Or is that true for the rest of the country, too?
