the roar of the lion

I'm still feeling incredibly mopey these days. I just want this long, drawn out winter to be over. I want to gallivant about the city. I want to see the grass of Bryant Park. I sit in the sun and read the Times. I want to watch people rowing little boats in the park. I want to feel like I can stop listening to The Smiths...

if you're so funny
then why are you on your own tonight?
and if you're so clever
then why are you on your own tonight?
if you're so very entertaining
then why are you on your own tonight?
if you're so very good-looking
why do you sleep alone tonight?
i know ...
'cause tonight is just like any other night
that's why you're on your own tonight
with your triumphs and your charms
while they're in each other's arms...

I've heard that imaginary girlfriends can help with the mopiness.

It is a guarantee that listening to Morrissey won't lift ANY mood. I love the discussion about him in "I Love the 80's." They asked what on earth was so wrong in his life that he was so depressed about. One guy finally said, "Oh, you'll pay me money? OK, I'll be the most depressed guy on the planet."

it's this fucking weather. hopefully it'll be spring soon.

morrissey is not the way to cure a depression. neither is the smiths, the cure... oh, what the hell. ANYTHING will make ME cry if i'm depressed.
