Posted by mikewolf at March 06, 2004 01:16 PMIf you're going to call your album "Time Out of Mind," shouldn't you do a cover of the Steely Dan classic?
Posted by: Joel S. on March 6, 2004 03:38 PMTypo. It was supposed to be "Time out of Wind." And then the Art Department, well, you know how it goes.
Posted by: Linus on March 6, 2004 04:16 PMThe words "Steely Dan" and "classic" should never be conjoined unless immediately followed by "crap."

Posted by: Joel S. on March 7, 2004 04:40 AMHey, let me know how you like Guralnick's second Elvis volume. You read the first, I presume. I have fond memories of driving around Memphis using the map of landmarks from Vol 1 -- Humes High, Laurel Apts. One upside (maybe the only one) to the city's perpetual economic malaise is that you can drive around downtown and see it much as Elvis did, not just in the 70s, but the 50s.
Posted by: Vernam on March 8, 2004 12:11 AMyikes. I won't touch that, Joel S.
But Mike, have you heard Sufjan Stevens? I've been sharing Michigan with anyone who will listen.... Soundtrack to my winter.
