The following people are sincerely invited to eff off -
* Ralph Nader
* The dude working out in the gym downstairs who leers at me every Sunday morning when I go to get a bagel. Give it a break, pal.
* The crazy woman on the train who kept trying to talk to me last night while I was listening to my iPod.
I do realize that randomness is starting to read like one of Larry King's old columns. However, I'm just too pissed for words this morning. Starting one's day by screaming at Meet the Press is just too disturbing.
Posted by mikewolf at February 22, 2004 11:02 AMYou want we should get the hell off of yer lawn, too, Mr. Cranky Von GrumpGrump?
Posted by: Ken Goldstein on February 22, 2004 01:24 PMNot to worry. Nader will be inconsequential.
He won't have the Greens behind him this time. Right there, it's a totally different ball game.
Also, Bush has proven he is far, far worse, than any democrat. In this upcoming election, no one can honestly deny there's a significant difference between the 2 parties.

Posted by: deano on February 23, 2004 01:00 AMYikes! What a crummy way to start a Sunday. Hope the rest of the week is much nicer.
Posted by: Cassie on February 23, 2004 10:30 AMI wasn't near a tv to watch it, but I just knew he was going to run. Nader's an egomaniac and a jerk.
Posted by: LadyCrumpet on February 23, 2004 10:33 AMI truly believe you're right, Dean. However, I just don't understand the point beyond ego.
Why the hell is he doing this? This is shaping up to be a very close race and he's certainly not going to siphon votes away from the Axis of Evil. No disillusioned Republican is going to vote for him but some disillusioned Democrats will. One would hope that he'd drum up support for Kerry by wooing non-voters to the polls but his own arrogance doesn't seem to allow for that.
Without the Green's backing he's going to have a hard time becoming a force with any consequence. However, he shouldn't be shifting focus and making an issue this time around.
Posted by: mrw on February 23, 2004 10:40 AMNo, if you were Larry King, it would be:
* Last night I had dinner at Elaine's with Ralph Nader, whose latest run for the presidency has Ross Perot contemplating the resurrection of his Bull Moose Party, or whatever it was called.
* The dude working out in the gym downstairs has a crush on your friendly columnist.
* Personal to the crazy woman on the train who kept trying to talk to me last night while I was trying to listen to my iPod: How do I turn this thing on?
Posted by: Vernam on February 23, 2004 06:01 PMWhich is it? Is Nader going to be inconsequential, or is he a jerk and an egomaniac who's going to siphon votes away from the Democrats' nominee? I just wanna know when I cast my ballot for him. :-)
