Twang boy oughta know this - has Emmy Lou Harris ever publically admitted to being a junkie? Now, or ever? Definitely not wanting to cast dispersions, but I have to say, I've often felt the needle is not a stranger to her. Something in her... 'distance.'

It's no skin off my nose either way - she is what she is, or isn't. She sings with such pure honesty and that's a blessing and a gift she's brought to the world.

She claims not. She's very famously said that her intake is "the occassional marguerita." I can't imagine that anyone who hung with the Parsons crowd as she did could uphold that sort of abstinance. She also claims that her relationship with Gram was strictly platonic so take that for what you will...

You guys are morbid! I'll admit to finding the slideshow, however, while looking for a photo of Carlene Carter at the funeral -- never did find one. The AP story said she was very distraught at the service, and her drug problem is pretty well documented. Losing your lover and mother within a couple of months would be hard on anyone, even somebody not chemically predisposed. I hope she can rise above it.
