Today I received an invitation to the fifteen year reunion of my high school class. I haven't been to any of the the previous reunions and the jury's still out as to whether or not I'll make it to this one in late August.
The thing that struck me as funny, though, is that my hometown is so small that both the reunion and mixer are being held in Battle Creek, twenty minutes away.
Is it any wonder that I love NYC?
Addendum - You simply must watch this little flash promo for my hometown. How funny!

As for the reunion... I swore I'd never go to a reunion until I had a good-looking boyfriend on my arm and a nice car to drive. So I went to my 10-year reunion with Rich and had a pretty good time, especially considering the fact that I was a total geek in high school.
I blew off the "informal" 15-year reunion, though.
People always say "I don't really want to see anyone I went to high school with," but I like to look at it this way: Do you want the people you went to high school with to see you?
I admit it. I went because I had something to prove. I looked hot, and I wanted to be seen.
Oh, and the buffet was great. We went back for seconds and thirds and laughed at all the people who said "oh, I can't. I'm on a diet." Screw that.

Posted by: Meredith on May 23, 2003 08:41 AMNah. Now I'm old. Plus it was over Thanksgiving weekend and I had to work 900 miles away. There is the whole logistical thing.
Posted by: K.Britt on May 25, 2003 12:50 AMFor the record, I am younger, but clearly not hotter.
