a cry for help

Is it just me, or is it sad that a I have a stack of tickets this big at home and they still don't represent even a fraction of the shows I'd like to see this spring and summer?

I wanted to see the pile of tickets, and I'm sure other people do, too. They should be like me and change their backslashes to forward slashes, a la:

Summerstage should be good times this year.

I think if you can A) afford it, B) have time for it, C) love to do it then by all means enjoy the concerts. I wish I could go to more concerts, but can't do to any one of the items listed above. So enjoy yourself. So no you don't need help.

Looking at your Village Voice, I see a bunch of stuff in NYC this week. A quick cull....of shows that could make me hop a flight:

Everclear - maybe not your cuppa, but that in itself is a reason to see them. Great live.
Throwing Muses - Tanya, oh Tanya.
Yo La Tengo - always fantastic, their latest CD is totally sweet.
Cheap Trick - if you've never seen em...fix that!
Brian Auger's Oblivion - retro!
Jim Campilongo - haven't seen him recently, but was great a couple of years back.
Lloyd Cole - without the Commotions?
Evan Dando - Yeah! go!
Deerhoof and Erase Erata - Local to bay area. Must see!! Very eclectic!
Rosie Flores ;-)
Lydia Lunch - if not Rosie, then Lydia.

Oops, I said:
>Throwing Muses - Tanya, oh Tanya.

I meant: Kristin, oh Kristin.

They're both so hot....

I actually think that Everclear are remarkably under-appreciated. I've not seen Trick (isn't that awful?) and am intrigued to see whether or not Evan Dando is going to implode.

Yo La is, of course, sold out. On the Muses, put me squarely in the Tanya camp (or at least when I was 18). I always try to get Orrin to tell me Tanya stories.

Mike-it's everything you always wanted and more, this is one of the reasons you moved to New York..go for it, maybe you can plead insanity to your credit card bill, sue the internet for having all the information about the concerts...you just can't get enough, you have wanted to do this your whole life...you have become addicted and I think you could get away with it, all you need is a really good lawyer! LOL
