this is a joke, right?

Okay. I'm sorry to bitch about the weather again. Nobody likes to hear that, I know. However, indulge me one more time. Thanks...

WE'RE GETTING A BLIZZARD TOMORROW. And I don't mean a frosty Dairy Queen treat. Nope. A real-life Nor'easter. The local news said 6"-10" inches (with probably a bit less by the shore, where I live) with scattered accumulation of up to 13".

As if that's not wacky enough, the weather guy said it will be snowing and thundering? What. The. Hell. How is that even possible?

I also just heard they cancelled the Yankee's home-opener because of the impending storm. The never even had to do that at old Jarry Park in Montreal.

I still don't miss Atlanta....

Here's one for you. My parents have been without power for two days. The temperature in their house is a balmy 40 degrees! Oh, and almost every tree in their yard has snapped in half because of the umpteen layers of ice.

Something to look forward to, perhaps.

We were expecting 6-8" here in Chicago but got only 2-4". ONLY. This is April ferchrissake.

Oh yeah, the Cubs opener is still on.

I beg your pardon. Did you say snow. You have exactly 24 days to bring those frigid tempuratures up to a balmy 75 degrees.

It has happened a couple of times since I've been out here that we've had thunder while it's snowing. Pretty freaky.

Oh, and did I mention that I'll be in CALIFORNIA on Thursday?? heehee

Posted by: Tiffany on April 7, 2003 02:53 PM

It's about 60 degrees and sunny in San Mateo, CA.
Someone has to live here...

Boy, am I glad the long, oppressive west coast winter is finally over. Those couple of weeks when it was in the mid to upper 30s were rough. And that one morning when we had that dusting of snow...I never thought it would end.

:-)

The novelty of snow has entirely worn off for me. I demand that Spring make an official appearance instead of being such a damn tease.

Posted by: ssg on April 7, 2003 05:13 PM

Hey - remember that Spring is a transitional season. In 1995 or 1996 (I forget which)we had a big snow storm on April 15th all up the east coast. We had something like a foot of snow here in DC and they had similar amounts in NYC. The Yankees Home opener was snowed out then too. It was a big shock to everyone. It's 40 degrees and raining hard here in suburban Northern VA, the outer suburbs were expecting some snow or sleet today. You know - everyone complains about the weather, but noboby DOES anything about it.

oh lighten up on atlanta. it can't be all that bad. whenever i think of it i imagine it to be a hot, sun-shiny place. that's a winning combination for me.

whatever you do- don't read the last couple of posts at our place!

Posted by: nicole on April 8, 2003 12:28 AM

Yeah, yeah. Try living there for eight years and then get back to me...

Actually, Atlanta does have it's charms. I was just ready to leave and the South in general. I was a carpet bagger, what can I say?

See, Mike also hates California. So basically he hates all places sunny, bright, warm and welcoming. He likes dirty, cold, windy, snobby places. What does that say about his personality? You be the judge...
