dead man talking

I believe that there is no finer television on right now than Six Feet Under. The acting is top-notch, the plot always interesting and the character development is believable and complex. Well, there's also my secret and inexplicable crush on Lili Taylor, but that's a topic for another time.

However, am I the only completely annoyed by the dead guy talking routine? I hated it when the elder Fisher re-appeared from the dead in the first season and I hate it even more when the "clients" come to life in the subsequent seasons. It just seems so, I don't know, unnecessary and dumb. I always roll my eyes. We get it already.

So what are we to make of the fact that Rachel Griffiths still appears in the credits and Lili is listed as a "guest star?" Hmm...

i'm still trying to swallow the head trauma induced by the first 15 minutes of the season premiere. i have a slowly developing notion that bobby will step out of the shower and season 3 of 6ft.under will become known as the Dream Season.

and where is rachel and her smashing "estrine" accent?

I was going to say enjoy Lili while you can as I don't expect her to last but I didn't want to force my prediction on you. Your last line about her billed as a guest star makes me think that you've the same thoughts as me though.

Is Ruth turning into lesbian? I think she and Kathy Bates would be a great couple.

Yeah, another reader e-mailed me to tell me that Griffiths returns in episode five. Interesting.

It certainly seemed like they were foreshadowing that, didn't it? Of course, Bates also made the comment about picking up sailors...

Seeing as how I'm poor and HBO-less, I have only seen the first season, which is out on DVD. But, I must say, I love Nathaniel Fisher's appearances. The other dead people, not-so-much, but Mr. Fisher I love because he's such a character (a hoot, some may say) and sheds a lot of light on where the other Fisher's came from and have turned into the fascinating people that they are.
