There is a whole genre of writing comparing NYC to other cities. The fact of the matter is that pretty much anyone who chooses to call NYC home wouldn't ever dream of ever living anywhere else. We have a chip on our shoulder, though. We see our city constantly maligned by those who really don't understand. Yeah, it's grimy. Yeah, it's insanely urban. Yeah, it's huge and arcane. It takes a certain person to love the city. Those of us who do wouldn't change a damn thing.
In the latest entry in that genre, Clay from the Morning News takes on the subway and compares it to D.C.'s Metro. The grit, the character, the attitude. I wouldn't change a thing, either.
