did i miss something?

It has been my well-formed opinion that Michael Jackson is a freakazoid pedophile for the last, oh, decade or so. Why is it, then, that you can't turn on a television for the last few weeks without seeing someone's version of his insanity? Were some people still on the fence when it comes to the Gloved One? I can't imagine why.

Two thoughts:
1) At one point or another, we all liked MJ. Nobody doubts his obvious insanity, but it's almost as if you found out an ex-girlfriend had turned into a homicidal schizophrenic...we're worried about what it says about us.

2) Michael was/is living the dream...he has more money than most of us could count, and we all secretly believe that with enough money all our problems would be solved. To think that someone who has damn near everything could still be such a freak is casting aspersion on our own dreams.

I never really liked MJ. My mother forced me to wear that jacket. Shut up. All of you...

I think both of those observations are spot-on, actually.

Well obviously your mother forced you to wear it. ALL mothers love to see their children in red leather with lots of zippers. It's a dream come true.

eh, luckily, i was born AFTER the whole MJ phase. he freaks me out. and i think everyone is revolted by his lack of responsibility, but secretly and subconciously reassured that though their lives arent as comfortable as his, he's definately got something wrong in his upper story. he kind of boosts people's self esteem and convinces them that hey, my life isnt all that messed up. look at this freak on tv!!!

i think he's a good reminder for everyone that just because you have money doesn't mean you've got no problems. and man, the self-loathing he must have for himself. whoa. and that he actually goes within ten feet of any child is enough to creep me out. ugh.
