I watched a documentary tonight on the Long Island Railroad shooting in 1993. Remember that? I remembered the name of the gunman, Colin Ferguson, and remembered that he represented himself at trial but, at the time, it seemed like more random violence so far away. I was still in college in Michigan then. That's almost embarrassing to me, the fact that it didn't "register" very much with me. Anyhow, watching the documentary on A&E I was able to identify all of the locations. I don't take that train very often - only when I used to go see Maureen - but all of the locations were very familiar. Suddenly it didn't feel like it was so far away. Seemed like it was in my backyard and like it was all so recent. Don't know why I chose to share that. Weird. I need to sleep.
