Shit. Watching one of those lame news magazines tonight ("20/20," I guess) and I find out that no one wants to date a really nice guy who's under 5'5". No one. Literally. What the hell am I up against then? Shit. Not looking for reassurance here, kids. Just looking for facts. Is crip boy completely off the chart?

Posted by: Brad Simmons on August 24, 2002 11:37 AMOk, So the views of the other person sharing this email account do not necessarly reflect the views of management!!!!
I think that this is a bunch of hooey!! I think that the nice guy will always win. It just my take longer to find that person but I know many ladies that would prefer a nice guy to a stunningly handsom guy. Afterall looks are fleating and personality lasts.

Wait a minute! Christy's now implying that I'm also not "stunningly handsome." Oy!

Posted by: MRW on August 24, 2002 01:20 PMBeing only five feet tall myself, I think shortness is a state of mind. I haven't ever thought of myself as short..even though I am. I have never thought of you as short either. A lot short men I have know really do have a short-man-Napoleon-complex that probably contributes more to their lack of dates than their actual height does. You, my friend, don't have any hangups and I don't think have any worries.

Posted by: Erika on August 24, 2002 07:01 PMI can only say this about my closest and dearest friend. I knew the thru the "J.B.'s" and the God only knows how many "T's." He was always the one who put forth the effort it took to make a relationship work. Any person who is lucky enough to know him as well as I do will know a man who stands 7 feet over the tallest person in the world. I mean yeah height is important to some people we call them shallow. You my dear friend has what it takes to make all of us hang our head in shame when it comes to taking care of a women.

Posted by: Brad Simmons on August 24, 2002 10:01 PMI'm not entirely sure, but I think that reeks of sarcasm.
Brad does get to advance to the bonus round for referencing "J.B." who, I can only assume, is my high school girlfriend Jenny Beck. As for the "T" reference, I assure you, I have no idea.
"Taking care of a woman." Ha! As if...
Wow. I need a drink. Or 20...

I have no idea how tall you are, but really, I wouldn't worry about it. I mean even Tom Cruise gets dates and he's considered short by some people's standards. AND he has that whole being tom cruise to work through. That's gotta hurt him more than being 'shrot'. =)
There's hope for everyone. Literally.

Posted by: MRW on August 25, 2002 08:14 PMsilly. i figured as much. still wouldn't worry about it. once women get past that silly bad boy infatuation good guys come out on top.
if forced to choose between you and TC i'd definitely pick you. of course, I hate TC so maybe that's not such a good example.

I promise that I'm also much more literate than that TC fella. Was there anything more embarassing than his little "speech" before the Oscars last year. Yikes.
I'm also not a member of some wacky psuedo-religion, for that matter. There's a L. Ron Hubbard "Museum" in Times Square now. I'm really tempted to stop.

A few months ago the local office of the "wacky psuedo-religion" was hring for a receptionist. I soooo wanted to stop by and apply. My friends had to do some quick talking to get me to change my mind. Nobody ever lets me have any fun.

Posted by: patricia on August 25, 2002 10:14 PMoh as for being much more literate than him, I'll have to take your word for it. I make it a point to avoid watching him at all costs. Switched the channels as soon as I saw him on the screen.

Posted by: patricia on August 25, 2002 10:20 PMI for one think you need to get much, much shorter, Mike. Centerville, Michigan's own Verne "Mini Me" Troyer and the late, great Joe C (in whose memory I'm presently pouring a 40 ounce on my curb) both seemed to do very well with the ladies.
