5 Gears in Reverse Anybody
5 Gears in Reverse Anybody care if I temper my enthusiasm for the new Allison Moorer album? Good. See, her first two were brilliant and different. They were recorded in Nashville but were what generally gets called neo-traditional. The new one's getting a LOT of good press for being different and "approachable." Apparently approachable means that it has been through the Nashville ringer. The tracks were great live. They had a lot of power and soul. On record, though, there's a lot of uncomfortable elements. I keep triple checking to see if Billy Sherrill produced it. Disappointing. She still wants me though...
