Yet another trek to Mt. Sinai today. Decided to do it the real urban way - no car at all. I walked to the train station. It's about a 20 minute walk and I didn't have to hassle with the non-English speaking parking lot attendant. See, the five level parking garage at the station is monthly parking only. The wait list for a monthly pass is four years. No. I'm not kidding. I can get in and park in one of the wheelchair spots but first I have to try to communicate to the attendant that I do, indeed, have a wheelchair. It's really annoying and leaves me $6 poorer.
I then walked from 125th & Park to 99th & Madison. That was another 20 minutes. After working until 4:00 I decided to walk to Grand Central (42nd and Lex). That one was about 35 minutes. Then a 45 minute train and another 20 minute walk. Damn. I'm stupid.
People I saw today -
*The worst transvestite in America. A tall black man with dreads and a belly shirt with a big belly. I wish you could have seen it.
*I woman crossing the street holding half of an umbrella over her head.
*A dog walker walking 9 dogs at once. I counted. It was impressive.
